“Now my soul is troubled. And what should I say—‘Father, save me from this hour’? No, it is for this reason that I have come to this hour. Father, glorify your name.” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and I will glorify it again.”

– John 12:27-28

The paradox of Jesus’ gospel is that true life comes through death. In Jesus, God gave up everything for us. Jesus gives up his glory and fame in order to be glorified through self-giving love.

How have you seen the fruit of self-giving love in your own life?

How do you sense God calling you to give of yourself for the sake of someone else?
